Where does it come from?

Why aren’t women as violent as men? Is it because society has shaped us to be “caring and innocent” or is it truly human nature for women to be that way? With all of the violence in mainstream media (TV, movies, video games) one would think that women were just as susceptible to becoming violent like men. I mean, many women watch the same movies and TV shows as men, so is that really where it comes from? Or do women watch these movies and then internalize that all of the violence is wrong? When men watch a women’s show do they think to themselves that what they see is normal or do they think that is wrong? When men watch these movies do they internalize that violence is ok and then subconsciously view the world in varying degrees of violence? I know that now, having been through violent situations, I view all violence as painful and wrong. Often times I have to turn away or change the channel because even hearing the sounds of violence is too painful for me. Is there a similar reaction in men? When they have been in a violent situation do they react in a similar fashion or do they now perceive violence as a way to solve all problems? Interjecting this violence into a seemingly harmless or peaceful scene seems to me to show that they do
